Indeed, the Green Bay Packers jointly hold the record for the fewest
defeats in the history of major league baseball!

in major league baseball, a team's "record" is the number of wins and losses they have on any given day of the season. the "best" record is the team with the highest winning percentage, which is usually also the team with the most wins. I didn't qualify the date, because one team is currently enjoying a sizable lead and will likely remain on top by the time this contest is scored.

and for the record, the green bay packers play in the national football league, not major league baseball. their season starts next week.

They can play more than one game in a single day? I guess it's the anti-
theses of cricket then.

From where I sit, it's more or less the same thing.

There are such things as doubleheaders, two games in one day. They're
fairly rare these days, but used to be more common.

But that's not what he was talking about. He meant the record is the
wins/losses up to that point in the season.

Indeed it does. I know that when I researched the question, I concluded that
the equator passed through in the strait. But that was a over a month before
I ran the quiz, and I don't remember exactly what procedure I employed. I
find it difficult to believe that the island has drifted north since then.
:-)

Given that Stephen's victory was so superior, it does not really matter
if he loses half a point on this question or not.
