What I find funny here is that if you only asked about the country, I would
have answered Brunei, and I would have been dead sure I was right.

But maybe those kind of people make sure that the fortune does not display
to well. When browsing the list at Forbes, I noticed that were members of
the Saudi royal family was there. But the ruling prince is not that
rich? Nah... Also, Angola had only one person on the list a woman. The
last name looked familiar, and, indeed, she is the daughter of the long-time
President.

Pinera, in difference to the other hand, became rich long before he
became president.

And as I typed those words "rich long before he became president" I recalled
the man who may be the only current world leader on the list - the
Chocolate King: http://www.forbes.com/profile/petro-poroshenko/

Well, that was totally unexpected! I only answered a few of the questions,
and several of those answers were just WAGs.

I'm snowed under - not literally, it's summer here in Oz - with producing a

Tyler Walker Pleads Guilty To Felonies in Wake of High Speed Pursuit

On Tuesday, former NASCAR and World of Outlaws racer Tyler Walker pleaded guilty to two third-degree felonies and three misdemeanors under a plea agreement with prosecutors in Washington County, Utah.  The charges stem from a 60 mile high speed pursuit that took place on Interstate 15 between Southern Nevada and Southwestern Utah in January, 2013.  In that chase, Walker, driving a BMW 750iL, drove at speeds up to 150 mph and only stopped after all four tires had been blown out by spike strips, effectively disabling the car.  Once stopped, Walker exited the BMW and attempted a "foot bail" (running away from the police) before he was apprehended.

During a search of the vehicle, methamphetamine was found in the car.  Both Walker and his companion, Raelle Hann McDonald, were placed into custody at the time.  According to The Spectrum (St. George, Utah), McDonald pleaded guilty to drug charges in a separate case and received probation.

Walker's appearance in court only came after the proceedings were delayed a dozen times by Walker's legal team.  The delays were mostly due to Walker spending an extensive amount of time in outpatient drug rehab.  In addition, according to Walker's lawyer, Trevor Terry, Walker had also been working with a neurologist due to the effects of past head injuries.

Regardless of the reasons for the delays, the postponements had frustrated Judge Eric Ludlow, who presided over the hearing.  After the 12th postponement, Ludlow authorized a bench warrant for Walker's arrest in order to force him to appear in court, but no arrest was made.

Walker will be sentenced on February 23.  The felonies involve the failure to stop for an officer and the aforementioned possession of methamphetamine.  He could be sentenced to more than ten years in prison for his crimes.

FRONTSTRETCH TRIVIA:

Q: In the 1987 SunBank 24 at Daytona, Scott Pruett was supposed to race a Mustang Probe GTP car.  However, the car barely lasted an hour before it failed.  Eventually, Pruett moved around like a hot potato to a couple of Roush Racing's GTO Ford Mustangs.  While driving the No. 22 Mustang, Pruett had a very unusual incident in the tri-oval.  What happened?

Check back next Monday for the answer, here in the Frontstretch Newsletter!

Last Monday's Answer:

Q:  In 1993, Jimmy Horton infamously made history when he rolled out of Talladega Superspeedway during the DieHard 500, a ride that completely overshadowed the life-threatening injuries sustained by Stanley Smith in the crash.  Who did Horton claim was the first person to approach him after his Active Trucking Chevrolet came to rest at the bottom of the hill supporting the turn 1 banking?

A:  According to Horton himself, the first person to reach his destroyed Chevrolet Lumina after it came to rest was a random race fan with a drink in his hand.  He was said to have quipped that "...you know you wrecked bad when the first person to you has a beer in his hand."

* Game 8, Round 7 - Entertainment - When Two Names Aren't Enough

Sometimes actors and actresses need a little something extra to
be noticed and remembered. In the case of these notable people,
it's either a three-word name, or at least an initial in addition
to a first and last name. Again, I've sorted the questions into
picture order on the handout; and again, no decoys. Please see:

http://www.eskimo.com/~scs/msb/8-7/3.pdf

In each case, name the person. Note: In this round, you must
answer with the *full name* (as usually used), not just the surname.

1. The actor in picture A is best known for his roles alongside
Will Ferrell, but he also stole scenes in "Chicago", "Gangs of
New York", and "The Hours".

2. The woman in B has been a standout in films like "Miller's
Crossing" and "The First Wives Club", and was nominated for a
Supporting Actress Oscar for "Pollock".

3. The guy in photo C has had roles all the way back to "Cool
Hand Luke". Our favorite film of his was "Repo Man", with
"Paris, Texas" close behind.

4. The actress in picture D appeared in "Fried Green Tomatoes",
"The West Wing", and "Angels in America". But she's best known
for the cable series "Weeds". Name her.

5. Picture E. While Sally Field played Mary Todd Lincoln in
"Lincoln", this actress played her in "Abraham Lincoln:
Vampire Hunter". She also has 2/3 of the same name as one
of our other answers. (That may be above or below, since
I rearranged the questions.)

6. The guy in picture F was a child star in "The Bad News Bears"
and "Breaking Away", and staged a comeback in recent years --
including an Oscar nomination -- after resorting to delivering
pizza for a living.

7. Picture G. Just name him.

8. The Picture H actor starred in "Goon", the greatest hockey
film this side of "Slap Shot", but he'll always be remembered
as Stifler from "American Pie".

9. Picture I is one of the great character actors. One of his
few starring roles was in the Coen Brothers' "Blood Simple".
But his CV includes "Reds", "Blade Runner", "Silkwood",
"Raising Arizona", and "The Pope of Greenwich Village".
He's another guy who uses an initial. Name him.

10. Picture J. Her films include "Scarface", "The Color of Money",
"The Abyss", and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves".

* Game 8, Round 8 - Sports and Leisure Miscellany

1. In golf, what is an albatross?

2. Le Fédération Internationale de Peche Sportive Mouche is
the international body for tournaments in which popular
outdoor recreational sport? Be specific.

3. Which competitive sport takes place in a venue called a "salle"
on an area called a "piste"?

4. What is the best hand in a game of standard poker? Be specific.

5. Which card game takes its name from the Spanish word for basket?

6. Which tile game derives its name from the Chinese word for
sparrow?

7. "A Walk in the Woods" is a best-selling book by Bill Bryson
about a hiking adventure on which popular hiking route?

8. If you are toxophilic, what sport is your passion?

9. How many blank tiles are there in a game of Scrabble?

10. How many players, in total, compete in an official beach

Well, *we* don't. Even in a Canadian league, in the original game
this was the hardest round except for the audio round; and in the
entire season it was the fifth-hardest, excluding two audio rounds.
And here in the newsgroup, if Calvin hadn't known one answer the
round wouldn't've counted in this game.

if this seemed hard, it just goes to show that having all the money in the world isn't really such a great thing. I myself have the largest collection of sea shells on earth, which I keep on the beaches all over the world...

$6.4 trillion. to put that in perspective, the u.s. national debt is just over $18 trillion as I write this. [see http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/ or for a more confusing look at it in 'real time' see http://www.usdebtclock.org/]

I bet they did not call him "B.J." since "Black Jack" was actually

Montezuma and predecessors are often referred to as "emperors" in
English, but as far as I can tell people usually refer to their state
as the "Aztec Empire" or "Aztec Triple Alliance," even though neither
term corresponds to anything used at the time.

This is another case of back-translating the Swedish title. The film was
also call "Mit Afrika" in Danish. However, it appears that the Danish
title of the book was "Den afrikanske farm". In any case, from what they
say on Wikipedia, Karen Blixen wrote her books in English first and then
translated them into Danish, "Out of Africa" is the original title.

But I figured that I should make this note, so that Calvin knows how to
score Björn's answer.

(Myself, I saw this film dubbed in German. The most enjoyable of the
evening was the commercials for the local newspaper Tageszeitung - Die
beste!)

Thanks for that Erland.
I saw it long time ago, and as you noted,
back-translated 'Mitt Afrika' to 'My Africa'.
As noted before, back-translations are tricky.
I never knew the original title.
