This is not my field of expertise but my understanding is that petroleum is an umbrella term referring to more than just crude oil. The question was quite specific, and no one refers to "West Texas petroleum" AFAIK.
 
If anyone knows better then please reply.

It's "flour" in Swedish which may explain that answer. Difficult to spell
since the pronounciation is "flår". But possibly at little simpler for us
Scanians, as we can remember that if pronounced as spelled it is the
same as "flies" in English.
