What to Watch: November 30-December 6

- It's Champion's Week in Las Vegas as 2015 Sprint Cup Series Champion Kyle Busch will be properly feted Friday night.  There will be all of the traditional celebrations, including the NMPA Myers Brothers Luncheon, the Victory Lap on the Las Vegas Strip, the "After the Lap" extravaganza, and finally, the banquet itself.  Banquet coverage will start with a Red Carpet Special Friday night at 8 p.m. EST on NBCSN.  Since NBC Universal owns both NBCSN and E!, don't be surprised if someone from E! shows up on the broadcast.

Stewart-Haas Racing Announces Personnel Changes

On Monday, Stewart-Haas Racing announced two major changes on their team for 2015.  Michael Bugarewicz takes over for the departed Chad Johnson as Tony Stewart's crew chief, while Billy Scott comes over from the shuttered Michael Waltrip Racing to replace Daniel Knost as Danica Patrick's crew chief.  Read more

Q:  After the 1988 Budweiser 400k, NASCAR left Riverside International Raceway in favor of then-Sears Point International Raceway.  Everyone thought that Riverside was done for good, but that was not so.  Delays kept the Moreno Valley Mall at Towngate (built on part of the track's property) from opening all the way to 1992, so there was still time to race in 1989.  What did the track ultimately do in order to keep racing in Riverside for an extra year?

Q:  In 1986, the Formula One World Championship came down to a battle between Nigel Mansell, his Williams teammate Nelson Piquet and Alain Prost.  Mansell was in decent position toward the end of the race, until a massive failure ended his day.  What happened?

A: Mansell was in position to claim the World Championship when he spectacularly blew his left rear tire on the Brabham Straight at nearly top speed.  The blowout broke the left rear wheel assembly as well, rendering the car undrivable.  All Mansell could do was drive the Williams into the runoff, retiring from the race.  The blowout can be seen here with commentary from Murray Walker.
