Santa Cruz. Wait, there is a petrified forest in that province, but there
is a small problem: it's quite far from Canada. Hm, Newfoundland?

And this must be Nova Scotia!

..or maybe I should swap the answers #2 and #3. Yes, I think I go with
that.

The Current Events game for the recently completed season is over,
and, by a margin of 12 points, the winner is JOSHUA KREITZER.
Congratulations!

QFTCI Current Events will resume on about 2015-01-20.

Infidelity. (Any reference to this was sufficient.) 4 for Peter.

Barring mutations, a man's Y chromosome is passed on identically to
his sons. But Richard III's Y chromosome doesn't match those of a
number of men descended through the male line from the 5th Duke of
Beaufort (1744-1803), although the duke was supposed to have been
a male-line descendant of Richard's. There is no data available
to say which generation the infidelity occurred in, but if it was
early enough, several past monarchs may not have been the legitimate
descendants of previous monarchs that they were supposed to be.
