>> Q10: How many times has Sweden advanced to be one of the top four teams
>> in FIFA World Cup in football (men's tournaments only)?

(Mark Brader) 1 -3
David B 1 -3
Björn Lundin 2 -2
Stephen W Perry 4 CORRECT
Dan Blum 6 +2

David B is knocked out.

The years are 1938 (4th place), 1950 (bronze), 1958 (silver) and
1994 (bronze).

In comparison, England has only there twice. (Nevermind, they became
champions on of them.)

I'm really disappointed with Björn. He should know this. OK, so the
showing from 1938 is a little obscure. (And due to some luck. Sweden
only won a single game in that tournament, the quarter finale. They
should have played Austria in the first round, but they withdraw due
to Anschluss.) The bronze from 1950, which was just two year after the
gold in the Olympics, is certainly not obscure.

This contest is now open only to Dan Blum, Björn Lundin and Stephen W Perry.

(This is the question where everyone who is knocked out draws a sign of
relief that they are not involved anymore. :-)

Q11. Every third year, OECD runs PISA (Programme for International Student
Assessment) to assess the level of 15-year-old students abilities in
mathematics, reading and natural sciences. The study is not limited to
OECD countries, but other countries can join. The most recent run of
PISA was in 2012, with 65 countries participating. In mathematics the
list was topped by Shanghai with 613 points. At the end of the list we
find Perú with 368. The average for the OCED countries was 494. What result
did Sweden score in mathematics?

Please post your answer no later than Sunday 12, 22:00 Swedish time.

Well I did know 2 of them, and the color of the medallion.
I was happy with that ...
In the beginning you put me as favorite here,
but as with most knock-outs - it's a fair bit of guess work,
even if I _should_ have a clue about the magnitude of the guess.
But as it seems, the competitors have a great feeling for the magnitude
as well...

Of course, my son would have nailed the football question, but I'm
just not that interested in sports.
