RE: kaleidoscope projection

I seem to recall one of the members of the Magic lantern Society (UK)demonstrating a home-made kaleidoscope set-up at a London meeting a few years ago. If you are a member of the society then it should be possible to borrow a copy of the video of the meeting. From memory the main issue is that, with each reflection of the image through the kaleidoscope, light is lost so not all segments of the image project with the same intensity.

Kind Regards

Subject: kaleidoscope projection

Dear list,

I am looking for a way to make a kaleidoscope-like projection.

As I have heard there should be a combination of magic lantern and kaleidoscopic lens.
Is there anyone who knows more about this ?

Where to find / how to make such a lens / ...

Any technical and optical help is welcome.

Thanks,

Oona Libens
