Recently I found this image and I’m not sure how to interpret this correct. (see image attached)

Could this be the depicting of the life broadcast of an event? Radio or Television?

 

One see people dancing in the center below of the image.

On the right of the image one sees a pencil sketch (floating in mid air) depicting a man behind a receiver (or transmitter).

The only text in the image is a sign board which reads ‘Wereld News’. (World News).

 

The image comes from a set of ‘art deco’ decor sketches from a variete theater. (see another image, BAR, for comparison)
