[visual-media:350] astronomy performances

Dear group members,

For my research on planetarium performances in the 19th century I am searching for material that helps to understand how these performances combined modalities from the theatre with moving transparent paintings and, later, magic lantern slides. I am especially interested in the theatrical quality of these popular science lectures: the performance of the lecturer, the effect on the audience, the theatres they were staged in, ....

Any reference - reviews, posters, commentaries, readings, people I could turn to, ... - would be helpful.

Thank you for any hint or reference!
Best regards
Kurt Vanhoutte
